וַיִּקְרָ֣א יַ֠עְבֵּץ לֵאלֹהֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל לֵאמֹ֗ר אִם־בָּרֵ֨ךְ תְּבָרֲכֵ֜נִי וְהִרְבִּ֤יתָ אֶת־גְּבוּלִי֙ וְהָיְתָ֤ה יָדְךָ֙ עִמִּ֔י וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ מֵּרָעָ֖ה לְבִלְתִּ֣י עָצְבִּ֑י וַיָּבֵ֥א אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־שָׁאָֽל׃
Und Jabez rief den Gott Israels an und sprach: 'Oh, dass du mich wirklich segnen und meine Grenze vergrößern würdest und dass deine Hand bei mir sein könnte und dass du die Befreiung vom Bösen tun würdest, damit es mich nicht schmerzt! ' Und Gott gewährte ihm das, was er verlangte.
